From beach boat loading to race-day grit, the Sea Dragons took on Sproat Lake, waves and all, in a fast and fun day of racing!

Spicy Ending to Sea Dragons Season
The Sea Dragons wrapped up their season with a thrilling silver medal at the Comox Dragon Boat Festival, battling fierce winds, whitecaps, and churning ocean waves. With grit, teamwork and the steady hand of our steersperson Carol Ann, it was a spicy finish they’ll never forget.
New Races, Close Calls and a Perfect Season Finale for Sync or Swim
Sync or Swim wrapped up the 2025 season at the Vancouver Island Dragon Boat Festival in Victoria, August 23–24. With new race formats, close finishes, and plenty of firsts, it was the perfect way to finish the year.
In Memory of Val Savage
On August 11, the 49th Dragons gathered for their annual Bute Island picnic. This year’s trip carried a deeper purpose as they honoured the memory of their dear teammate and friend, Val Savage.
Westwood Lake: Two Days, Two Medals, One Hell of a Weekend
Sync or Swim took on the first-ever Westwood Lake Dragon Boat Regatta in Nanaimo July 19–20 and left with a silver, a gold, and a whole lot of good vibes. With 200m sprints, our debut in the 500m, and a whole weekend of sun, sweat, and spirit, it was one of our most fun festivals to date.
Sproat Lake: One Lake, Two Teams, Plenty of Heat
It was a scorcher on the water as both Sync or Swim and Sea Dragons headed to Sproat Lake for the annual WCDBS Regatta. With 20 teams, 300-meter heats and more sunscreen than we care to admit, it was a day full of big wins and even bigger community pride.
S.O.S (Save our Steer) - The Super Sprint Story
Sync or Swim hit the Fairway Gorge Super Sprints with high hopes and fast strokes, taking 1st place in our first two heats, but things took a dramatic turn… literally.
